Description and Expected Results: This is a research conference hosted and run by the Frederick A. Coller Surgical Society. The conference will feature talks of various lengths focusing on surgical health services research, basic science and "interesting cases." The result will be that participants will learn new methods and techniques and strategies that can be applied to their clinical practice for both technical (i.e. hard) skills as well as soft skills (e.g. reducing bias). After completing this activity, participants will be able to apply current health services research, basic science research and the techniques in the presented cases, to improve their own surgical practice, research portfolios, teaching methods and patient outcomes. Participants will routinely be able to integrate and cite data-driven methods and techniques, and apply them to their own surgical practice.
